月の輪

「月が音楽を奏でたら、どんな音がするのだろう？」

そんな想いを胸に、夜空にぼんやりと浮かぶ月が放つ幻想的な光を眺め、その情景を一つひとつ丁寧に音に拾い上げていく。

満月はどこも欠けることなく、柔らかなまるい光をぐるりと広げている。でも、じっくりと見るとその光の輪のなかには、黒い闇に少しずつ染み込むような多様なグラデーション、色彩が存在していことがわかる。

薄明かりのなかをそぞろ歩き。きらきらとした空を見上げて澄んだ空気をゆっくりと吸い込む。美しくゆらぎ、心に穏やかな温もりを灯す十五夜の月の下で、光の波に漂いながら、メロディを重ねていく。

“What kind of sound would it be, if the moon made music?”

With such a question in mind, while looking at the fantastical moonlight of a hazy sky, Hirai picks each element of this emotional landscape and turns it into sound.

A full moon is a complete circle radiating soft beams. Careful observation reveals how various grades of light and colour penetrate the jet-black darkness.

Meandering through faint light, she inhales clear air, looking up at a sparkling sky. Mamiko Hirai stands below a full moon that hovers beautifully, emitting warm light that enters into our minds. She layers melodies from the waves of moonlight.
